A crazy challenge to support Alzheimer Geneva
An opportunity to raise awareness. A disease. This is how Alex Curti, personally affected by Alzheimer's disease, decided to take up the challenge of the Marathon des Sables.
At the age of 29, Alexandre is confronted for the first time with Alzheimer's disease, which strikes his father. Alexandre then began the journey of being close to someone suffering from the disease.
Resilient, patient, sometimes overwhelmed, he admires his father, who endures this ordeal with dignity until his death in 2022.
During all those years when the disease gradually transformed their daily lives, Alex also witnessed an admirable strength: that of his mother. Her courage, resilience and unwavering love were heroic, and enabled his father to “make the best of his illness”.
Today, he runs to feel alive, to push back his limits, and to prevent. Because disease doesn't wait.
So he is taking up this huge challenge, the Marathon des Sables, for himself, for his father, for his mother, and for all Alzheimer's sufferers.

From April 4 to 14, 2025, join Alex Curti on his 250 km journey across the dunes of the Sahara. For him, facing the challenges and hazards of the desert is reminiscent of the daily struggle of people with Alzheimer's and their families.
Support Alexandre in his extraordinary challenge.

“Sport helps prevent and reduce the risk of cognitive decline.”
Sophie Courvoisier, Director of Alzheimer Geneva Association, supports an inspiring commitment to a vital cause
The link between physical activity and brain health is now well established: regular exercise reduces the risk of cognitive decline and preserves brain function. That's why we are so grateful for the challenge taken up by Alexandre Curti.
Through his exceptional commitment to the Marathon des Sables, he conveys a powerful message of hope and resilience, reminding us that, in the face of Alzheimer's disease, every effort counts.
Thanks to him, and to you who support him, we can continue our mission: to accompany, inform and raise awareness for a future where everyone can live better with the disease.
Thank you, Alexandre.
Thank you, dear donors.
Together, let's advance the cause.
